Google Voice on Android

Google Voice on Android is right there in the top after Google Maps, as  one of the most useful applications I have on my phone. Here are a few highlights, which are not immediately intuitive and Google ought to be selling this.

  1. It gives you the option to dial through Google voice every time you make a call. And the number it dials from is different from your cellphone number. And you can also receive calls on that same number.
  2. They have international dialing at competitive pricing. Even if they are charging you a little more than another service, it is so much easier to dial the international number directly and choose Google voice when dialing. This avoids the hassle of calling an in-between number before you call the final number trough your regular calling card service.
  3. Calling to Canada is FREE! This means that you can avoid charges placed by your carrier service to dial Canadian numbers.
